Where it fits
Acupuncture works best here as one tool among several, not as a standalone therapy. The typical patient has a back or a shoulder that has stopped responding to hands-on treatment and exercise, and needs the pain settled enough to do the strengthening work that will actually resolve it.
We assess first. If your problem is mechanical and fixable with rehabilitation, we will say that rather than sell you a course of needles.
A session
Short consultation, then treatment lying down with needles left in place for around twenty minutes. Most people find it deeply relaxing. Afterwards you may feel loose and slightly tired, which passes by the next day.
Cupping
Available in the same appointment and combining well with acupuncture for tight backs and shoulders. It suits broad areas of tightness, a common presentation among people doing physical work in the heat. It leaves circular marks for a few days, which are neither bruises nor painful.

Common questions
Does it hurt?
The needles are far finer than injection needles. Most people feel a brief prick at most. A dull heaviness around the needle is normal and usually a good sign.
Are the needles safe?
Single-use and pre-sterilised, disposed of after every treatment. Nothing is reused.
How many sessions before I know?
Three to five. If nothing has shifted by then we will tell you honestly that acupuncture may not be the route for your problem.
