The Island caseload
Two distinct groups. Office workers from the CBD with the familiar desk pattern: lower backs that ache by afternoon, necks and shoulders locked from screen work, headaches that arrive around three. And manual workers from the port and Old Town with the heavier end of the spectrum: lifting injuries, shoulder problems, and backs that have taken years of load.
Continuing hospital treatment
Most of the coast’s hospital physiotherapy happens on or near the Island, and a good number of our patients arrive after being discharged with a protocol and no continuity of care. Bring whatever the hospital gave you. Seeing the same therapist each visit is the main thing we add.
Getting across
The Nyali Bridge is fifteen to twenty minutes off-peak and considerably more when it is busy. Plenty of Island patients prefer we come to them, and that is straightforward, say which you would rather when you book.

Questions from Mombasa Island patients
Is it worth crossing the bridge for an appointment?
Fifteen to twenty minutes off-peak, more when the bridge is busy. If travel is difficult we come to you instead, say so when booking.
I was treated at a hospital on the Island. Can you continue my rehabilitation?
Yes. Bring your discharge notes and any protocol from your surgeon and we will work within it.
Do you visit offices in the CBD?
For assessment and treatment we need somewhere private with room to lie down. Where a building has a suitable room this works; otherwise the clinic or your home is better.
